By the Numbers

Below are highlights of last year's impact on our community through service. In total, we served 34,870 people and 8,880 families in Sacramento last year. Find a complete listing of statistics in the full report.

Housing Stability

We are proud of our continuing impact on homelessness, with 79% of our 204 transitional housing residents and 59% of our 449 shelter clients finding permanent housing. At our Center of Hope Shelter, we provided 38,227 nights of lodging. These numbers really show how deeply we are impacting families in crisis.

Community Center

Last year, we served 536 preschoolers in our Early Care and Education program, providing 2,375 hours of kindergarten prep so that our students will have a successful start to their education! We also served 793 youths from underserved neighborhoods in our after school program, where we help keep kids focused on positive activities and provide them with tutoring.

Workforce Development

With two strong job training programs, we're helping people succeed. Clients who have recently completed a Salvation Army rehabilitation or shelter program and are ready to build self-sufficient lives are getting quality training in the construction and culinary fields. Last year, we had 30 graduates. Twenty-eight of those graduates found full-time employment.
