There is always a chance for growth and change. And no matter what difficulties a person has been through, they can lead a self-sufficient and happy life.
That's the idea behind The Salvation Army of Sacramento's Culinary Arts Training Program - a program that welcomes people who have struggled with homelessness and substance abuse, and gives them a unique opportunity. Through this program, they develop kitchen skills to support meaningful employment in local hospitality industries while instilling professionalism, confidence, and dignity.
-16 week program (40 hours/week), Bi-Monthly enrollment. Classroom/lab instruction and studies conducted Monday-Friday with midterms, finals (written and practical), and graduation (2 per year)
-Receive ServSafe Manager's Certificate and work in food service operations including restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and grocery stores. Opportunity to apply for externship after week 8 of the course .
-Application requirements: CATP application/essay and Culinary Career Survey
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for those who have struggled in the past and are ready to begin a new life.
It is only through your support that we can continue providing meaningful programs that help lift people up of out the cycle of addiction and homelessness.
